nitrate 10.......is this to high...will a simple water change fix it....i only have 6 fish..in my 125g tank..what can be the problem..i only feed them 2 times a day....

how long has this tank been running.water changes will lower nitrates but if cycle is not finished wont really help for ammonia.It will climb right back up

Shocking your water levels are out of whack?...Your Ammonia is through the roof?...I wonder what could haver caused it?

I dont think you need to feed 6 fish twice a day that is probably why your ammonia is high.

i guess i was asking for trouble when i added all the fish but now it is what it is.....i will lower the feedings to one a day....the tank has been up for 5 months..but i did add the things that i had in my old tank..that was up for a year..when you add things to a new tank..do you have to start all over ???

Yep, you can do daily water changes in an "emergency" situation. I wouldn't exceed 30% or 40% a day though.

Sounds like you have a lot of organics in your water
