What is this algae?

I have absolutely no idea as to what this ugly brownish algae might be that has grown itself all over the glass on my 33 gallon.
My best guess is that they are diatoms, but I've already had an outbreak of those on my sand which went away just a few days ago. Have they just come back all of a sudden? Or is it a different type of algae?

Actually, it's only been set up for about a month now, and as the nitrite and ammonia levels are down to zero I believe that the cycling process has been completed. I have a couple mushroom polyps that came with the rocks, and quite a bit of purple and green coralline algae. No fish. A pathetic aquaclear power filter which I plan to replace with a good-quality hang-on skimmer once I get the money. Sand. A powerhead. A little blue crab.

...

Any amazing revelations?

I would invest in a scrubber to clean the glass off. It looks like its just the normal hazy stuff that grows on the glass that has just build up. Most people have to scrape the glass every few days.

I would check out the flipper. It is pretty darn awesome for cleaning glass.
