Why do i have so many?!?!

Ever since i put some more live rock in, i have been getting thousands of tiny feather duster/tube worms growing on my glass, they multiply like flies around :pooh:.
But there is also something else in there like a tube worm.... but instead of putting out a feather kinda thing, they have made like a web of nets with this gunk they excrete... any ideas??? they are a black coil attached to the rock, whereas the white ones are a coil attached to a rock, but they put out a feather duster.. :?

The web one is a vermatid snail. They're harmless, but annoying.

You can glue to tube shut if their web is irritating something, like corals.

But Little fish.. i would feel super bad if i glued them shut, i hate killing things, even if it is annoying!! ;)

I just went through the same thing ( as far as the dusters go )..
from what I was able to find out is, they come and go none usually stay around.. Come on when the tank is nutrient rich...

trust me, when they are bothering your prized coral (or in my case, a clam), trust me, you will be gluing them shut.

Unless they are bothering something i usually just leave them alone

I had a couple HUGE ones in my tank I glued shut. They were making me crazy.

Haha okay i would do the same in your position, but do they actually do any good?? :?

Not that i have ever heard, they are just catching things with their webs.

Also, the feathers dusters are just fine, ive never had them bother a thing. and marcah is right, they will show up and grow very fast in the nutrient rich water of younger tanks.
