Can you show me a picture of how you have this hooked up? I think i might need to use a ball valve to restrict flow from the overflow, that will allow the tubing to fill with water instead of water and air. does that make sense?

Hey guys im setting up a new tank and i have designed my sump so that i can easily use the center portion as a refugium or build an algea scrubber into it. My first question is would it be ok the make the scrubber run right into the fuge and have both?? after hours on end of staring at this...

This is what i have put together for the sump so far. i have never done any plumbing before so im unsure about this i know i still need a 90 elbow coming off the ball valve. should i drop the excess water into the 1st or second chamber? see any issues?

So i got it on the tank, I go flex pvc to go into the sump and schedule 40 pvc to return. i will tak a picture of the planned plumbing as i get it put together.

You say the heat is causing him trouble? I did kinda expect they would get hot without a fan cooling. What size is his tank? im trying to find a more powerful light with the same benifits..

I had two friends apply pressure to the hood at the corners that were suspended until they touched the surface, im pretty confident that it isn't going to cause me much trouble... now i am waiting for the overflow to arrive, i don't even want to drill holes for the plumping until it gets here...

I think the weigh would accually push the plywood down to where its supposed to be but i don't want to take any chances. i could easily slip a shim under that surface and push it up to the tank but im afraid that would just cause a different pressure point.
