I asked my mom for more info about the tank, it turns out it is a 12 gal nano cube. She will give up the old one but wants a new one first. She did find a store in L.A. that sales just the top and the news version fits the older ones. She just has to go get it L.A. witch is 400-500 miles away...

I was talking with my mom the other day and her and my sister both said rust is good for a reef tank. They have both had reef tanks for 8 -10 years now, but I just can't see how it would be good. Does anyone think rust is a good thing?

I just got a lot more live rock (30% off sale) I added over 2X's the weight that was already in the tank. I know you should add all your rock when you first set up your tank, but I couldn't afford to buy that much all at once. First question: Is there anything I should be watching for that...

maybe it is working I think my skimmer is now working like it should. It has been a few day and the cup has a thicker darker color liquid in it and just about 1/4 full. Does that sound more like?
