hi, I recently received a ph moniter and after calibrating it I installed it and it was reading 7.6 - 7.7 . so I double checked with another test kit and it looked pretty close. my alk was around 9. I added some ph increaser and it raised the ph to 7.8 so I added more and it raised to 7.9. next...

he's dead. I took him out before leaving for work and when I returned he was completely white. unreal. none of my other tank inhabitants seem to have it.

who can recomend a good test kit?
i recently bought api and am doubtfull about the results. with api my ph test low my dkh is high my calciums high and nitrates are really high even after numerous water changes.
i got 2, 36" current usa pro led marine fusion lights on, 2, 24" current usa pro led marine fusion lights on and 2, 24" current usa pro led actintic lights on.
my tanks been going for over a year now and everything is stable. i probably got about 150 pounds of live rock in it now. i do 30 gallon water changes every two weeks or so.
i just recieved 1/4 lb of chaeto i bought from ebay and was wondering if it will be okay to put in my main tank and if theres any problems i should watch for. i know most people put it in there sump or refugiums.
