    Salt buildup

    I am noticing a lot of buildup of hard salt on the glass top of my tank. The top is actually cracked too and on the crack lines i am getting a lot of salt just buildup up into clumps on the glass. Mostly even on top of the glass... does everyone have this "problem"? Are my lights too...

    well... i just started my tank. see thread ... just saw this.. LFS guy said just bring the salt content really low and itll go away. when its gone for a couple days in a row slowly bring the salt back up. advice?

    i have been debating the bioballs. My LFS guy says that i should keep them for now until i get into a reef tank. I hear good things and bad things. For now... my thinking is that since im trying to grow the bacteria and since i dont have too much rock that the bio balls will help with that...
