    3 fish for good homes

Hi all, I have a Saddle Valentini Puffer and two Ocellaris Clownfish that need new homes. My daughter typically cares for the fish when I am out of town. She is going to college. I live in Flagstaff. I will need proof of your ability to take care of them in an established tank. Thanks

    Disappearing mushroom

I put a mushroom in a couple months back. It seemed to be thriving. In fact, just last weekend it replicated make a small offshoot. Pretty cool to watch. Today, it has totally disappeared. Chemistry seems fine. I have two clownfish and a valentini puffer. None have ever expressed any interest...

    Risk vs Benefit

I have some bubble algae growing. At first just two bubbles which I carefully removed. I guess I wasn't as careful as I thought. I've probably got about 20 bubbles I can see now. I'd like to add 2-3 emerald crabs to help out, but I have a Valentini Puffer. In general, he has left invertebrates...

    Stringy thing bothering my zoas

I've had a small rock which is covered in red and purple zoas in my tank for a month and a half or so. They are starting to spread, which is really nice. But, I have a couple hitchhikers. One looks to be a very small fan worm. It's so tiny right now it is very hard to tell. It's in the upper...

Coralife Aqualight vs Marineland Reef Capable LED

I'm comparing these two fixtures for my tank, a 36 gallon bowfront. I don't have huge reef aspirations. Mainly polyps and mushrooms. As I mentioned elsewhere, I think the LED light gets good reviews by people that have them. What do folks think? Coralife Aqualight 2 x 65watts Compact...

You really need that many snails in a CUC?

Looking at most clean-up crews offered on the internet, it seems like the number of snails is HUGE! For a 36 gallon bow front, at reefcleaners.org, they have a total of 82 snails. (At least my bad math added up to that) That just seems like wall-to-wall snails. How does it make sense?

    Riddle me this...

Hi all, I'm new to saltwater aquariums. Like a lot of folks, I thought I had it figured out. I have really enjoyed being a lurker here and didn't feel like I had anything to contribute until now. I has my 36 gallon tank up and running with a few hardy fish for ammonia sources. I added a...
