    haha that makes sense lol. i have 2 large turbo snaile about a dozzen nasarius snails. 1 large green bristle serpent star. and a mixed total of about 30 small hermits (red, blue and some other ones) also a whole mess of LITTLE cone shapped snails. i cant remember what they are called right now.

    also if it is detrious, will it seep into the sand bed. my sand bed is about 3 inches deep and the brownish/redish color is about half way through the bed. i can see it through the edge of my tank

    Quarantine tank question

    i currently have ich in my tank :( but i removed all of the fish and placed them in my QT. ( i did not have a QT untill recently) the fish are starting to show signs of improvement, but how will i know when it is safe to place the back in the DT?

    if it is a hard substance then it is most likely coraline. some people want it (including myself) and some people say it is a nuesance. it wont harm your tank at all, but when it starts to spread it is almost unstaopable. it will grow on EVERYTHING

    im still using tap water, everything looks good. perfect ph no amonia or nitrites right out of the tap. but the nitrates are about 30-40 so.... but i found a cheap counter top ro/di unit for about 65 bucks. i think we have a winner, lol

    +1 i would deffinetly remove the fish. some of the fish stores will hold them for you. then i have always heard that you want 1.25x LR per gallon ( so if you have a 100 gal tank you will want 125 pounds of live rock. also your tank is still very young. good luck.
