40 Watt PC

After getting yet another $65 parking ticket this fine afternoon, I came to the conclusion that I won't be able to get the 70w Fishneedit.com MH.:frustrat:

I have an extra 10G dual screw in hood (like the one I'm using now) and I'm gonna get two more of those crappy Coralife 50/50 10W screw in bulbs for it. I plan on attaching my two units for a combined 40Watts of PC light.

...I know it's not ideal..but hey it's better than nothing.


Would I be able to house a hammer/frogspawn/torch....something similar to those guys with this kind of lighting? I've read they require moderate lighting..and i'm hoping this will be enough.

Maybe if you put them high up in your tank ... you'll have 4w per gallon with both hoods but, PCs still don't put out the same amount of PAR output as T5s or MH

You could give it a shot. I think it would probably be okay.
