Finally got photos up of my aquarium! Glass on front is a little dirty because I was adding my serpent stars.
My skimmer looks nasty, huh!?

your skimmer cup is not level. get it level with the oring that is on it and tighten the set screw. after you set the screw tuck the o-ring downa all the way aroung the base so that water does not comeup over the cup

Daugherty, yup - fixed it last night! I was playing with it before I took a break to take some photos - still trying to get it just right. What's the ideal collection amount? A full cup per week, 2 weeks,etc or is it just varyable for how much junk you have in your tank?

Good start. The skimmate has a lot to do with how you want to skim. I like to skim dryfor 5 days of the week. On the weekends when I am home more I blow off the rocks with a turkey baster and skim a little wetter.

eventually algae is gonna grow all over your fake plants. So think of them as temporary until you can color up your tank with corals.

They are temporary! I wanted some decor before corals etc come in...but now they're looking gross, so I'm going to toss them.
