Bad Test Kit... PH HELP

OK I am mixing salt now, I have 2 PH kits but just got an RKL and calibrated the probe 3 times.... ugggg So my PH is 7.6 not the end of the world, it had been testing at 8.2, this probably is why my zoa look like crap....

#1 I am going to do a 20% WC, I am running an air stone in my sump but there is any thing I can do to help other then those? my Alk is 10. I have not run the other tests yet mixing water. I tried running a air line out the window but the GF said NO... it was running right through the living room.... but the closest window is about 20ft away....

O an I DON'T LIKE API TESTS!!!

Just try and Stabilize with a 8.2 product. Won't suffer forever although I am confused as to what else the problem is?

Did you take your measurement in the morning when you first turned on the lights? If so, pH will drop at night unless you are running a fuge on an opposite light schedule as the tank. 7.6 is not bad -- in fact that's pretty normal for an AM measurement. Try testing it again in the evening after your lights have been on all day. It should be higher then. That's the natural pH cycle in our tanks.

Right now its at 7.6 lights have been on since 10:30. I did forget to turn on a powerhead last night after playing with stuff and it bummped a little bit. but I am doing my water chnge just waiting for everything to mix... I am a little concerned my PH was 7.8 with my old test 2 days ago and I put a new air stone on and it went back up.... so this could be all of my zoa issues if my PH was 8.2 on my bad test and really 7.6 does that mean my PH was at 7.0? THAT is to low?

7.0 is definitely too low! But I'd have a hard time believing that out of all your corals, the zoas would be the ones showing it...

I'd think that if the PH was 7.0,then everything in the tank would be dead.
I think I would re-calibrate the monitor and see how that goes first.
Also its normal for PH to drop some in the winter because of CO2 build up in the house.
But your corals look to good for the PH to be that low.

that is good, yeah, I am confident that the probe is right and my PH 7.79 as I look over and check that is pretty cool! I did a 10% change yesterday and going to do another 10% today. I think my tank could use it something is not right with the zoas and they say if I do have something hopefully I can knock it out with some aggressive water changes. I dipped everything again...I mean I did get A LOT of new things this month I do dip things but nothing is 100% I would like to have a QT tank but honestly if I am getting another tank its not going to be empty!

I can tell you I just had not one but two Nutrafin ph kits that were totally screwed. They actual PH was 8.4 and they were testing near 7... try a different brand kit.
