Bangaii Cardinal

So i read an article on MIB that if your bangaii cardinal has two little triangles under its belly that it is a male. After reading this i assumed that my lonely cardinal fish was a male (has two triangles). Yesterday i was looking in the the tank and i saw the Cardinals abdomen enlarged.
is he fed really we? is he sick? or could it be a female holing eggs? there is only one bangaii in there is that possible.

It now has a with string thing coming out of its stomach

And he gets little less then other fish because doesn't eat pellets. Also this was a rapid enlargement in the abdomen

Sounds like a parasite to me.

Prazipro is a great antiparasitic

+1 Erin, swollen abdomens and stringy poop are the more common signs of internal parasites.

Ahh I believe you have Camallanus Worms aka Devil worms infects the intestines of the fish/host.

Where did you buy this fish and how long ago? Petco?
