Hi guys, I'm new here and was wondering if I could get a little info on saltwater chillers. I'm thinking of getting a pet lobster and I've been doing alot of research into the materials needed. I noticed that i need a chiller, but all the ones Ive come across are hundreds of dollars. I'll be using a 55gal tank and was wondering if anyone could recommend anything that wasn't that expensive. A chiller seems like a pretty simple concept but I'm confused as to why their so expensive. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong types? Any help I can get would be much appreciate, thanks!

chillers are very expensive, and youll need a fairly large one to keep a cold water lobster. you could always set up your tank as a reef tank and keep a reef safe lobster with some corals and fish

I've never seen chillers under $300 to $400. That's one of the reasons why cold water lobsters aren't kept as pets.
