hi all
advice time
i have a mated pair of allardi clowns that are in my 175
i have a mated pair of australian clowns in my 24g biocube
i would like to put the ausies in my 175
the australian clowns are much smaller than the allardis

the allardis have their territory established

can i expect some bucking for position and then they would all be ok

or is it not advised at all???

They will most likely fight. If it were me I would probably not risk it, but if I had to I would take out the allardi's for a day or so then add them all together and cross my fingers. But then you risk stressing your allardi's and they may not mate any longer.

It's rare that you can safely mix species of clowns, or more than a pair of clowns. I, personally, wouldn't risk it. Even if one set has established their territory already, there is a huge chance that they will fight, and two of them will end up dead.

I'll buck the trend and say in your 6' long 175g tank, you shouldn't have any problems long term. The established pair will probably let them know where not to go, but you have lots of room. I say go for it. :)

interesting capt
the woman who owns the local sw fish shop said the same thing

not sure what to do

ps when i say the ausies are smaller, i dont mean by a little, they are like 1/4 of the size of my allardis
