C, don't sweat it. I've had one emerald since I first started in the hobby like 18 months ago.... when I moved tanks, the sucker was nearly as big as the palm of my hand. I measured him at 3.5" across, including legs, at the widest bit. I still see him now and then and all he eats is algae. LOTS of algae.
