Flowerpot coral

I found cyclops frozen food today and fed with the bottle method that Bifferwine suggested. I think I should have put some mesh netting over top of bottle because my peppermint shrimp were inside the bottle eating as well. It seemed like the flowerpot was eating too.
The flowerpot opens and closes throughout the day. Is this normal?
It has also allowed the coral to lay sideways on it, quite entertaining.

That happens. Another good way to feed is to use the dropper method.

It was free from a friend that was redoing his aquarium. He has had it for quite a while so we will hope. Not something, I would have bought.

I would cover the top like you have thought about, the shrimp will end up taking all the food from the coral.

And Im not sure about the coral going in and out, but I would suspect its a bad thing for this coral because it requires lots of energy for the coral to expel the water in its tissues and shrink up. That could potentially make the coral starve faster.

I wonder if it is because he is new in the tank. I have had it for 4 days. We shall see.
