How long do I...

Big Daddy
need to wait before I can say my Zoa is fine with my tank as is? I don't want to add any other corals until I know my zoa is going to be ok(it is my very first one) it has mostly opened up over the last 3 days some polyps haven't fully extended yet.

If my water was bad would a Zoa just melt away quickly? Or spend months wasting away?

It would take several weeks for zoas to die. They are tough. I'd say to give it a week. If most of them are opened, then it's probably fine. There will always be a couple stragglers that take longer to get used to the new tank.

Cool, yeah since adding them they went from an ugly brown/green to a more vibrant dark green with an orange mouth and almost yellow tentacles(if that is what they are called?)

I like to call those "eyelashes". Zoas are tough little critters, I've had some fall into the rock only to find them growing in the dark quite well a few weeks later.
