my question is I want a skimmer, but the location to install it is the question. I have heard many opinions and I know for one that that on the tank as an HOB is out of question.
I have heard that it not a good idea to install in the same location as the return pump because of the micro bubbles and effectiveness will not work.
So I was wondering a couple of idea and just looking for opnions.
so here they go.
1. make an additional baffle for the skimmer, even though its after the pads and bio balls how effective will it be.
2. install the skimmer outside the sump and just have the pupm on top of the water as if it were an HOB
3. remove Bioballs and install the skimmer there, and in the lower section of the wet dry put bio balls, even though it is extremely small.
4. put a small 10gallon sum apart from the wet dry and run the overlfow to the the 10gallon and then use the pump on the skimmer to pump the water back to twet dry.
any help would help out.
