I am running a coralife 30" dual lamp and im wondering if i can put a different actinic blub to give me more blue or if i could use the "walmart" fixture that came with my tank in addition to the coralife and just put in an actinic. like i said i dont really understand lighting yet!

That 30 inch you have...is it a compact fluorescent light or a t5 fixture?

are you planning on keeping any corals at all? if so you may want to upgrade the light to keep any.. i am assuming that the tank is 22 inches high if so maybe a metal halide or LED fixture? over 18 inch t-5 bulbs dont do really well..

Nope, you can't use walmart bulbs in that fixture, you'd have top get them from a lfs. With t 5 fixtures, you can switch bulbs around to obtain the color scheme you're looking for.
