I glued everything except the short output piece that comes out of the elbo and barely touches the water surface.
I special ordered my gate valve from Ace too. That was the only place I could get 1.

Should I be using a certain type of glue? Because we have plenty at the pool store I work for. I just don't know if it'd be "reef safe" or if that even matters.

For PVC, I use regular PVC primer and glue.

Well, I got my sump back up and running, placed the skimmer in with the mod. Unfortunately, the T in the mod is too high so I'd have to cut the skimmer tubing so I could move it down. I don't know if I'm willing to do that so I placed the old tubing on, except I adjusted how the skimmer sits in my sump so the output is more in the middle and won't spill over. I may get the guts to do it sometime this week. I'll keep y'all informed.
P.S I'm thinking I might be able cut the tubing coming off of the tubing, then cutting the original adjustment tubing (to the point where I could still use it if the mod doesn't work), and then placing the mod ontop. We'll see..... :grumble:.
