Need some help getting my overflow started!!

Right now my plan is to set up two big 60 gallon trash barrels tied into each other. One for salt water and other for RO water. With air powered pumps pushing the water from the barrels through tubes in my walls to my tank for easier water changes and an automatic top off system. Current problem is the winter months cold weather. Worried about hose ruptures.

I actually just got it working about 30 mins ago. You're idea worked perfectly, I put the pumps back in with the pipes over the output. Once the flow got started I shut the pumps off and it's been going great. I'll be posting the pics in my fuge thread.
