Protien Skimmer

Is it common to be extracting around a quart a day? Sometimes even more.
The fluid is a medium yellow. I have the skimmer wide open and was wondering if i should cut it back some? I'm not sure if there is a desired color that i should be looking for.
It's s DAS BX2 sitting in 210g tank

mine is fairly dark gunk. it depends on what's in the water I guess. if I skim wet I will have a yellow pee like skimmate.

Adjust your skimmer's air intake so that you're getting a dryer foaming action. That will give you a darker more desirable skimmate. You'll also have to empty it less

im new with skimmers..i got mine on saturday...and i have been getting alot of dark brown water...is that normal is that what the skimmer does...

well, yes the idea is the bubble's get bigger as they move up the cone as I'm sure you know, if yer's is dark in color and smell's like dog sh&* when you clean it then yer proly ok, as for the first post +1 dcan,to much flow in the skimmer and not enough air, skimmer's tend to need a little tweaking to get right...

It does smell really bad.i do clean it..does that mean my water is really bad.

Nope. It's pretty much poo and rotting stuff. It's supposed to smell bad.
