r/o looks oily

i decided to start storing r/o water in a container instead of going to lfs everyother day to get some. i put it in a clean 20 gallon tub with a power head and a heater. i went to top off my tank today and noticed as i pored in the r/o it looked oily any idea on what is causing it to look this way

Did you clean your tote with soap?

Sometimes a rinse job misses some stuff.

no just water it is one i always use for water changes. i also have a heater and a powerhead in it.

Are you sure it's the tub and not coming from the ro unit that way

Clean that tote out with a water /vineger mixture then rinse it. See if that helps.

I just read a post the other day about people storing water with a heater and it turning slimey..After they remove the heater it seems to remove the problem. I don't know what post it was.

Did you prime your RODI unit? I doubt that's what it is, but if the unit is new, you need to prime anyway -- run it for an hour, or a gallon or something.
