would this work on a garden hose adapter?

i really dont know if that will or not one thing you can do is go to the hardware store and get different adapters. one that will fit the hose than one that screws into that one and so on until you can get a 1/4in nipple that the hose will fit on.

Yeah, the RODI units "as is" hook straight into your plumbing. You need to order that extra part to hook it up to the faucet.

The instructions say the waste water tube needs back pressure and the saddle won't fit above the trap becuase the pipe is small and there is no room. I'm going to drop the waste water tube into a sink. How can I create back pressure?

i think it will be fine with out any back pressure. there is no way to get back pressure unless you put a little ballvalve in the line or use the saddle
