I'm new to this forum, as well as the idea of ATS filtration. I have an empty 10gallon tank that i want to put to use for my 90gallon display tank. I don't need to make any special chambers like the sump since all I'm doing is positioning the screen in the center of the 10gallon right? Then there will be a pump in the 10gallon tank that will pump the water back into the aquarium, correct?

If i have a current sump right now, couldn't i just add the screen into the pipe, and position it inside the sump rather than inside the biochamber( a usual sump). my nitrates are high because of a large bio-load, so i'm really interested in this ATS build, but trying to get all the details before making the move.

Let me know if I'm on the right track,Thanks in advance

Make sure you check out www.algaescrubber.net
That's Santa Monica's site and you can get all sorts of info from it.
I'd make sure you built a bubble trap prior to your pump.
