Thanks for the encouragement, was reading up regarding feeding clams and the thoughts are it's not advisable to feed them solids as it can block The clams gills and they can easily get clogged if they are aggressively target fed.Has anybody thoughts on this?

regards Allen

Definitely don't try to feed clams! They will not take solid foods. They are filter feeders and eat phytoplankton out of the water column.
Sarah, on the basis that my 250L tank only holds circa 180L allowing for the displacement of the live rock, would you think 45ml of phytoplankton each night would be sufficient or too much, at the moment they get 10ml.

Allen

Most people don't add any phyto to their tanks. I don't. If you want to keep dosing what you normally do, that will be fine. Phyto is found naturally in the water in healthy tanks.

Those are some great looking additions Allen.

I'd drop the phyto dosing back to 5ml about twice a week.Phyto is just naturally in our tanks,so theres no need to add so so much.

What you are doing already, the 10 ml.

Sarah, have you any experience with feeding corals with Cyclops-eeze (bio-engineered and cultured micro-crustaceans), take a look at my naughty H.Crispa

It is trying to get more light -- that is why its climbing upwards, since your tank doesn't have sufficient light to keep an anemone (which is why it's white). You knew that already though ;).

And my firefish on your suggestion, and my other hobby Bonsai

My new LED's are due in any day now from Hong Kong subject to wind direction and the volcanic ash, keeping my fingers crossed and hope she holds out
