what do you guys think

I have my 250watt m/h 71/2 inch's off my water do you guys think that to close to water level.I ask because I just but a red table acro and its turning green.My test are all fine so I'm starting to think its my lights. I also have five t5-55w those are about 10in off the water.


By the way its a 70 gallon

It might be acclimating to your lighting. How long ago did you add it and what was the lighting like at where you bought it?

it was on the sand for a week and it don't matter where I put it in the tank. I moved it up slowly

Theres a lot of different factors that go into the colors of coral.Light spectrium,nutrient levels,water temps,calcium/alkalinity/magnesium levels.

all my sps hold there color. just imo i think 7" is pretty low and its harder to work on your tank with them that low also.

my red tabling acro (ORA red planet) turns green under LOWER lighting. If its getting blasted, then it becomes more red/pink with little green visible at all. So, 7.5" is probably ok above the water. It could even be a little lower probably and not hurt anything besides raising the water temps.....IMHO
