Yesterday, i went to another LFS and bought some live rock that the guy said came from Florida (ok cool, really don't care where it came from), anyway, this morning there were these thread like things coming off the new rock reaching to other nearby rock. When the lights were turned on, the thread like "things" began to retract seemingly back into the rock. I didn't see any creatures or anything. There seem to be four different places where the threads retracted into the rock. Weirdness. What is this???

I have them in my rock and always have. I dont exactly know what it is but it just eats algae and I havnt seen or had anything bad happen in my tank due to them

U guys rock! Anytime i have had a question, i get an answer right away, thanks! Another question, i have this very tiny green thing growing from one of my rocks that looks like a flower. It is very tiny. Could it possibly be a coral? I would have loved to get a freebie on this expensive $8/lb rock that i just purchased.

Its very possible to get hitch hiking corals.Just remember that are bad hitch hikers too.

Hard to tell without a pic. It could be a majano anemone. Or a zoanthid. Or a green star polyp. Try googling those.
