My actinics just came on, and to my horror I looked in the tank to find my White Cheek Tang dead. He was super cool, had great colors, and the largest fish in the tank. Really kind of a surprise, as he was fine last night at lights out. :(

So I guess now it's time to start thinking of adding another fish.

I have a Valmingi, I did him too.

Wonton, I had the White cheek for about 3 months I guess, he was freaking huge, my wife called him Sasquach. I'm thinking of replacing him maybe with a Tomini Tang.

fastrd400 that sucks! There is nothing more frustrating, disappointing, and sad than coming down to a dead fish (or starfish recently in my case). You have a good attitude though. What are you thinking for a new fish? (how are your H2O parameters btw?)

I'm thinking maybe a Tomini Tang, or a Black Ear Tang. Starting all my tests as we speak.

Sorry to hear this Wade. Sounds like he died from natural causes. Purple or Black Spot Tangs are ones you should consider too.

Thank you Dave. I just tested my water, everything is fine, Amonia and Nitrite both at 0, Nitrate a little higher (about 20 ppm), but it always is. Salinity 1.025, Ph is a little low, but I would expect that to harm him at all. Everything else looks fantstic. Oh well, just part of the hobby. He was pretty cool though.

Sorry for your loss! Since you liked the white cheek, try a powder brown. They are so similar and much easier to keep.

You guys are ridiculous!!!!!! All this time on the LR and never a single mention of a tennenti and now the day I place the order for mine, suddenly everyone wants one... :bounce::bounce::bounce: joking aside, I ordered one today that will be here this week. I will not bring it home till next week so I can make sure it's healthy and eating at the LFS but I'll post pics asap! Congrats on your exquisite taste in fish Rob. I plan to get an achilles down the road and I think those two will look stunning together!
