29 Gallon nOOb tank!

Brian I have had the skimmer going 2 days now and have gotten 2 full cups of goop and I am shocked at how clear my water is!! I effin love it thanks so much. :h5:

You're welcome! For a HOB skimmer, that thing is a beast. I never had a problem with my water quality while I was running it.

I ended up trading one of my larger rocks (the one with the dreaded pistol shrimp in it) to my LFS and got 2 smaller ones. While I was there I picked up this guy

Red Deepwater gorgonian they dont require high light so I am hoping he does well in my tank.

And here is the new and improved rebuilt reef it might have actually been a nice picture if it werent for the microbubbles. :grumble:

here it was before kind of crowded and messy

And my new red paly is all open. It paid for one polyp but when I got home I noticed there is a baby there too! Sweet

And my plate coral with his feelers extended today

Looks good Amber! Still having the microbubble issue?

Well it was fine until I started sticking my hands in there glueing down corals and moving around rocks. It seems to be on and off. When its not doing microbubbles the water is remarkably clear. I used to have the worst problem with dust always floating in my water but that is completely gone now.
I tried using a piece of filter sock but that just made the collection cup area start popping and making noises. I think it was messing up the pressure so i took it off.

I tried doing some research but everyone talks about adjusting the flow and valves and stuff and I dont think I have any valves or adjustment ability on this one.

You can raise and lower the surface skimmer portion. Somewhere on the RO website I read that it should be about 1/2" below the water surface but, adjusting it may help the problem.

Were you putting the filter sock under the water return back to the tank? Thats where I had mine and I never had that noise.

Really? It's at least 2 inches under oops! I will try that tomorrow.

I havent updated in a while so here are a few shots. I have 2 new feather dusters, 2 new sexy shrimp and a small patch of star polyps.

I am still having issues with a tiny annoying pistol shrimp that keeps me up all night. :frustrat: I am planning to move whatever rock he is in into the new seahorse tank which will be downstairs and not keeping me up at night.
