New tank inhabitants with pictures!

Okay got up extra early and bought THREE heaters, one to replace the broken one and two spares since I have more than one tank I thought it would be a good idea. It was a toasty 85 in the room this morning, tank only dropped one degree =D

Re: Amba's 29 Gallon Invert Extravaganza!

I bought a thing of aiptasia x just in case but I haven't opened it yet. The aiptasia seems to have died but as with all biological systems it can take a while for things to truly level out. The ones I killed are all gone and there is no evidence of aiptasia in my tank. I wonder though, if anyone has a tank specifically for aiptasia because it really is nice looking, at least the mojano nems that I had.

As far as the tank goes, I am still using the cheap $100 light but parameters are good, I let it cycle for a while, usual spike in ammonia and nitrites but they went down to undetectable already. Part of the speed I am sure was the bottled bacteria, carbon filter, and prime to remove ammonia.

So since the parameters were good, I picked up a tomato clownfish who happily lives in there now. I tried to get some pictures but the sucker is afraid of the camera and moves way too much to get a non blurry one. I will try again tonight.

After a while, I will move the tomato to another tank and start farming zoas. My LFS is going to order a bunch for me so I will get a significant amount of them at once.

That is also when I will be installing the sump (which I am building this week) and the plumbing (which is cut and glued for the most part, just waiting on the sump to be done before I cut it to size) and then it will be complete.

I'll keep the thread updated!

wow, I even googled feather duster
they look amazing!
I thought a fish was just stuck on the tube, LOL

Lmao thats funny. I love them, on friday I am gonna get another one or two for my nano. They are my favorite, next to zoas (which is what this thread is actually about, my zoa/invert build...).

Actual thread update:
I am having my sump glass cut this week; I decided to just build one instead of ordering one. This build is taking a long time because I just had midterms etc etc.
I should have the sump at the end of this week or monday of next week, and the skimmer is coming from my LFS. Overflow box should be here soon too. Like I said in an earlier post, the plumbing is 85% done. The tank itself is doing good, I added 20 lb of live substrate and a few pieces of live rock. I am just running a spare filter on it until my sump is finished. I will take pictures when the sump is done, stay tuned I will deliver.

The only reason I am getting it form them is because I am also ordering some other stuff and I like to get lots of things at once =D

I am not too confident with glass cutting, I initially was going to just buy sheets and cut them myself (I have a saw to cut glass) but I am just having a glass company cut the pieces for me. Then I will just cement them in the way I want them. I'm just using a 20 gallon for it.

DI Water: X

Okay here is a picture of the tank, still without plumbing but at least cycled and the home of a happy clownfish.

Pictures are to be desired but at least it's an update. The good stuff comes at the end of the week!
