R3, I had a similar issue and i put some phos-orb in my filter and it was gone literally in a day. I think you should try it as well, im by no means an expert so please listen to the other guys but this really worked for me and just wanted to share it with you.

I have an issue with lowering my phosphate on my tank. It is high and has been since i started the tank. I thought originally it was from my water, but it has not gone down. I picked up some phos-zorb today at the LFS. Anyone ever use this and will it mess up my other levels?
