Yeah I have had my tank for a year and im starting to look into getting one but its lookin like a big risk they look awesome but can be a big catastrophe

Agreed they are imo the best nano skimmers but i have a nano and i dont even use a skimmer and i dont see any bad things come from it

I would go with a 20 gallon for sure. I would get atleast 10 lbs of rock but the closer you get to 20 lbs the better and yeah you can get just a bit of live rock and then just get some dry/base rock for the rest its usually only half or even less of the price.

Yeah there are test kits for reef tanks or just marine because you want a test for nitrate ammonium and sometimes nitrites i got mine for about $25

Yeah when I first started my tank i just used tap water but as it got going I changed to RO to keep alot of the unwanted stuff in most tap water out:bounce:

Yeah they are but once i began using RO water the amount of them decreased greatly

I used non filtered water for the first few months on my 55g and then slowly i started to see diatoms and then had to switch to RO. I definitely recommend reg for the beginning but then after the first few months i would switch to some filtered water unless you get your water tested and find it...
