    Puffer

Is there ANYTHING you can do to keep a puffer from eating all the algae, etc.. off my live rock? Is there something I can put in he'd like to chew on instead of the live rock?

    Live rock question

I've tried every trick on this forum to catch my damsel and purple dottyback and am going to have to resort to taking out all the live rock. Two questions: do I have to put the rock in tank water for the short time it will take me to catch the fish, or can I just lay it in a styrofoam box with...

    Need help with identification

Can anyone tell me what these two things are on my live rock? The first is a red bubbly-like mass and the second is light brown. I just need to know if this is either desirable or undesirable so I can get it out, if it's not ggod. Thanks for all the help you all have given me so far!!!

    Stupidity revealed-need help!!

I am going to have to just reveal my lack of common sense and ask this question... I am trying to catch a mean dottyback and am using the two liter bottle method. What bait can you put in the bottle that doesn't just float back out into the tank, thereby just feeding the fish and leaving a...

    Ammonia question

So, do you think the two electric blue crabs in the tank ate it? I did a 10% water change this afternoon and the ammonia has dropped to almost zero. All the fish are seeming fine now, so this crisis may be over. WIll do another water change Saturday. Thanks for all the help here! This forum is...

    Ammonia question

My rank had cycles and just yesterday at lunch the water tested OK. I am on my way home to do the25% water change. Would you stir up the sand looking for the deceased goby or just let it be?

    Ammonia question

Sadly, I lost my diamond goby. He is apparently dead but under the sand or in the live rock. I have high ammonia levels. How long is the usual ammonia spike from one dead fish? Is a large water change in order? Do I risk moving LR to find him?

    Diamond goby question

I put a Diamond Goby and a purple dottyback in a 65g at the same time with two other clowns and a small damsel. There were two additional damsels I wanted to take back to the store, so after letting the goby and dottyback get used to the aquarium for about 8 days (with no problems getting...

    Pics of my 65g

This is my progress after about a month. Will not be adding any fish for a few weeks, but was wondering if it's Ok to add more live rock at this point. I want to build it up a little higher. Opinions? P.S. Sorry about the flash highlight.

    Just got here

I filled in that form a while back-it's now been more like 5 weeks in. I thought I was adding fish quickly, too, but was told at the store because of the live rock and live sand, I could add sooner. I don't plan on buying anything for the next 2-3 weeks. Water quality so far has been good and I...

    Just got here

Hello, I have started a 65 gallon aquarium I am hoping to put live corals in. So far I have two clowns, a damsel (got attached to this one cause it was so small and innocent looking), a purple dottyback, a diamond goby (that only comes out at night) and a green star polyp. Am really enjoying the...
