thanks D, i even went out and bought a 2nd kit just for nitrite and nitrate. i used both kits seperately and they're giving me the same results, so i'm thrilled. :bounce:

Just an update guys, i just did a full water test. The tank has finally cycled! ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 0 pH 8.2 SG 1.025 i'm sooooo excited.

I think its a marineland kit. There's 2 chromis in there and they seem happy as can be.

Why is it that my nitrite results don't match anything on the card? Its coming in as a dark purple and doesn't match any color on the card...

hey guys, just wondering, my tank is about 1/2 way cycling, ammonia at 0 and nitrite starting to spike, but my pH remains at 7.8... apparently this is too low? any ideas? and also the green algie is starting to get REALLY bad, especially on the higher rocks closer to the lights, will it...

omg :shock:... that video was disturbing, i love my inverts... well, when i had em before anyway.. i got into this hobby when i went to cancun. me and my girlfriend at the time were collecting what we thought were shells. apparently it turns out we collected over 50 hermit crabs. :bounce:

whoa, those are pretty cool... never seen any at my LFS. would you think it'd be a problem to keep a couple of those and just a lot of inverts?

hey guys, i was wondering if any of you could make some suggestions on some odd looking fish. i really had my heart set on a box fish or even a puffer but my tank size will not support these (30 ga). if its a strange enough looking guy, i might decide to just leave him in there on his own...

well, unfortunately i lost 1 already... :neutral:.. found him stuck to the intake of the powerhead. but as soon as i took him out the other two have been A LOT more lively. they're at te front of the tank now eating away. it was strange, the one that kicked the bucket was always swimming...
