    What is it?

I moved the rock to my quarantine tank, and put some shrimp by his hole. So eventually I will get him out. after looking at the rock i noticed a couple new small coral that are growing, and some small white clear bugs.

    What is it?

I looked online, and that is what best resembles it. I looked online, and some say they are harmless, some say they are bad when they get bigger. Can they be bad for your tank?

    What is it?

As of right now I can't get a picture, but there is something new in our tank. it almost looks like a centipede. It is a long worm like creature, with tons of small legs on it. It hasn't fully come out of the rock, but has been out around 4 or 5 in, so it is pretty big. I am keeping an eye out...

    Feeding.

i didn't do a whole shrimp today. I cut up small pieces and dangled it in front of all of the various inverts until they feed. and if they seemed still hungry i did more, but i didn't do but chunks and let them sit. Everything was eating the food, I wanted to make sure it was good enough to be...

    Feeding.

i will be getting 2 clown fish in a couple days as my first ones. I would use flakes or pellets if i had to, but common sense would say that most things would do better with meats.

    Feeding.

I have a brittle starfish, a couple peppermint shrimp, and some emerald/ruby crabs. I was wondering if regular shrimp like what people eat is ok to feed them, or if i need to get something else. I am also getting a long tentacle plate coral and a bubble coral in a couple days, and was wondering...

    best time for damsels

I was wondering when the best time to put damsels in a tank. I am just getting a 75 gallon set up and was wondering do I need to wait til most of the fish I want are already in. I know if you put them in first they can cause trouble. The ones I want are yellow tail damsels. I will have some...

Number of fish in 75 gallon

Its fine, I totally understand. Fish need the space, but some of the sites say they need a lot. I know in the ocean the fish live pretty close to each other at times. Right now there is nothing in the tank except the live rock and some small coral. I just wanted to ask about what others think...

Number of fish in 75 gallon

Yea, some sites say 75 gallon for minimum tank size for the blue or yellow tangs, and some say 120 gallon, so i wasn't really sure about that. I am very picky about the fish that I like, and those, and 1 or 2 butterflies are the only ones that I really like. At least ones that could possibly fit...

Number of fish in 75 gallon

I know that the basic rule is 1in for every 10 gallons, but that just seems so little. One tang would be it following those rules. Eventually I want to get a couple clownfish, either a blue or yellow tang, and some other fish. They only big one would be the tang. I will get a small tang since...

    New Tank and inverts question.

The first pic is full of zoanthids I think. They are opened up pretty good now. There is also a frag of bubble coral, it looks awesome.

    New Tank and inverts question.

Ok, so i got the live rock today from the guy, was around 40-45 lbs, with about 12+ frags of what i am thinking is kenya tree coral. Some of them as tall as around 2in. Am I right in thinking that they are kenya tree? There is also some bubble stuff that looks like eggs, and 2 other pieces that...

    New Tank and inverts question.

Ok, thanks for all of the info. I am getting the live rock this weekend, so before I get it I will go into town and look at the LFS. If the have sand, and its cheap enough, maybe I will get some bags and switch it out for the coral. I didn't do my research before getting it i guess, everything i...

    New Tank and inverts question.

The starfish that i wanted was a brittle starfish, dunno if that is something you can have with crushed coral or not. I got that because i heard from some people that it is more natural having crushed coral on the bottom. I already put enough money into it so that will have to do for right now...

    New Tank and inverts question.

Yea, the site I read that on said 1 hermit per gallon, and 1 or 2 snails per gallon, that seemed like a lot. So for right now 10 hermits and 15-20 snails(variety)? I also want to get a starfish and some shrimp, do those need to wait until later on. my biggest worry is adding all of it together...

    New Tank and inverts question.

I have a new 75 gallon tank that I am now setting up. I have all of the equipment needed, and have a couple questions. I am buying my live rock from someone that has had a tank for years, so the rock is already cured and has algae on it. So do I still need to do any type of cycle, or will it all...

    Is my light good enough

A couple of the corals that I like, and would like to get later on are leather toadstool, hammer coral, green star polyp, and Green torch coral. I also like the feather dusters, and flame scallops. I haven't checked to see if all of it is compatible together, but that is just what I like so far.

    Is my light good enough

I haven't really narrowed it down yet, but I like the soft coral, the ones that move back and forth. So generally any of those. If the lights are not good enough, I will just get them last, after i get better lights.

    Is my light good enough

I am in the process of setting up a 75 gallon tank. I was wondering if the lights I have are good enough for coral, or at least roughly how much light it would put off, low medium or high. I have a day and a night light, and the tank is around 22in tall. Here is a link to the same light that I...
