Algae is on it's way out of the DT!

Reefing newb
Interesting developments since I installed the algae scrubber. I also installed a new Lifereef Overflow. yesterday which greatly increased the flow over the algae scrubber.

Algae on sand and glass is disappearing almost before my eyes. Hair-like detritus color algae is being fed by the phosphates leaching out of my live rock and sand. This will clear up completely never to return unless my phosphate levels are elevated for more than a few days. I suspect that will no longer be a problem.

Getting ready to run some water parameter tests. Five days ago I had zeros across the board except for phosphates which were < .25 using the API Phosphate test.

The back glass has developed bubbles in a large area with a small population of algae eating pods and another area with a larger population. They are literally cleaning my back glass!

So far, the algae scrubber has me convinced that it is going to be a very good way to filter my reef tank and keep it nuisance algae free.
