Baby brine shrimp

Bifferwine

I am a girl
Can anybody suggest a good way to feed live baby brine shrimp? I hatched them per the directions on the package, but when I siphoned them into the tank, most of the shrimp appeared to get sucked up by all the filters and powerheads. And then the next time I cleaned the equipment, they were filled with a disgusting slimy mess. Is it okay to turn off everything when I feed, or is there a better way? (There's got to be...).

I personally don't recommend the use of mechanical filtration in the reef aquarium.

I prefer a big skimmer, that is stopped by the addition of oily foods for a couple hours allowing plenty of time for the food to be consummed by the system before it starts removing it.

Just my 2cents.

you can turn off pumps during feeding provided you an keep the water circulating within the system and air exchange at the surface. you do notwant the water to come to a complete stand still, so a pump that cycles water in the tank might be the best bet with the system you have.
