little shelf

I'm thinking of buying a little shelf of acrylic or pvc or some plastic which I can glue to the plastic back of my tank to make a small area of shadow, both to shelter the fish and so I can grow something which doesn't want the heavy LED canopy lights. I'm sure there must be something available which doesn't look too cheesy, but I don't even know whether to look in an aquarium magazine or Home Depot.

Has anyone else gotten something like this?

They make magnetic frag racks, that is what I would look into - that way it can be removed if neccesary
