then its fine, but also if you want a shallower sand bed, then take some out. But that hight is fine.

So back to the residue being on everything after adding the sand..
I went ahead and bought a cheap fresh water power filter to catch everything because the white residue was all over the glass and equipment. When I went to wipe it off the glass it just bunched up and floated back into the water so my sand bed was just covered with it.
So yeah i bought the power filter and disturbed the sand bed everynow and then so the residue would float up in to the filter. It looks like its doing a good job so far.
Is this what you all had to do as well??

Nope, i just left it alone and it went away.

It will go away if you wait it out. Don't stress over it -- it's nothing bad. It's a normal occurrence when you add new sand and add newly mixed saltwater.
