new color changes

So, I have 2 gregory damsels...haven't been able to find much info on them on the internet. The bigger one has always been kind of an ass to the other, but today he was chasing the other one, and all of a sudden turned color! Got these bright, vivid spots on him/her. Could it be a mating thing? I've never seen it on them before!

Some fish will change color patterns when their mood changes.

happens with a lot of fish. My blenny changes color quite a bit from time to time. and my vlamingi tang can go from brilliant blue, olive and grey to almost completely dark dark brown when he gets upset or threatened. im not sure exactly what other moods make him that way. but its not regular color.
