Protein Skimmer

I didnt know where to place this question, but my protein skimmer doesnt produce bubbles like ive seen on youtube. The videos ive seen show bubbles coming out of the skimmer that kind of look like the bubbles that kids make with the bottles of bubbles. Obviously different color. when i take off the skimmer cup at the top and look into my skimmer it looks like someone dropped an alkaseltzer in it.Ive never seen any bubbles come out of it like in the video, but i do have to empty it every few days or so. That isnt normal right?

its the biocube protein skimmer.

when i take off the skimmer cup at the top and look into my skimmer it looks like someone dropped an alkaseltzer in it.

This is exactly what it should look like.
The whole clear body of my skimmer just looks solid white when it's running. The bubbles should be TINY.
And then a larger bubble foam should come up over the neck and into the collection cup.
