revamp of sump ideas. ATO with refugium?

I am in need of a revamp of my current 29g sump. Its an open system now with an algae turf scrubber, dual media reactor, HOB skimmer, gravity ATO, and mag 7 pump. There is nasty growth going on and need to install baffles and do it up the right way.

My question is I would like to build the ATS, into a refugium, and use the CFL lighting the turf screen for nearby cheato algae to grow. I have had decent results with my ATS, and figured it would only benifit in having both.
Here is my idea for a design. Comments are greatly appreciated.

Here is the new idea I came up with after doing some slight measuring. I would like the fuge as big as I can. Let me know what you think?

I am debating on adding a deep sand bed to the refugium. I do have roughly 4-5" in the DT. Not sure if I will or not.

I think it looks good. I would skip the DSB for the fuge. It just takes up too much space and can be difficult to maintain.
