Substrate Thoughts ......hmmmmm

I think that would look good, and a different "natural" look. Also it won't have that dirty look to it like white sand can have. I say go for it. :)

That's the same sand I used, but I mixed it with dry sand as well. I bought it just to get some bacteria going in my tank. It works just fine.

I think that sand looks cool. It looks like it has like a reddish tone to it. Has anyone ever used the black sand in their tanks before?

I've also seen the black and white mixed, which I like.
And thats probably what I'll do if I even start another tank.

Thanks for the input.
Not sure I'm a big fan of the black sand though. I will give the Australian Gold a try.

I can see Yote using black & white sand in a checkerboard layout!
That would be some wild tank.

I might have to try that.

Ohno,

Any pics? I don't think I've seen any black sand tanks.....
Here you go.I also don't have any corals ,because i wanted an angel and triggs, but i would imagine they would really pop out with black sand and a black back(i painted mine)All the white specs are from the triggs nibbling on the rocks, then they spit it out all over..

OhNo,

The blacked looked cool.....kinda like the deep, dark sea.
The photo is down now, but thought it was cool!
