white balance on tank shots?

So, I still suck at taking pics of my tank. I really want to take pics when just the actinics or moon lights are on, but the pre-set white balances available in my camera (Nikon D3000) aren't high enough on the Kelvin scale... I think the highest setting is for lights that are around 5000 K. So, how do you guys compensate for the blue-ness of our lights?

If you have a manual white balance, point it at the sand and the camera should compensate. You are showing it what color white is. That's how I set mine.

Well, the white balance meter thing wouldn't work with the moon lights or with just the actinics on. I'll try it tomorrow when the halides come on and see if that's enough light for the sensor to figure out the WB....

Dennis, how do you adjust it in post? Like, what settings need to be changed? I've only got basic editing software, but one day... maybe I can afford photoshop....

thanks for the help guys.
