Worried about my candy cane

Hey guys, I was doing some tank maintenance and I noticed the stem of the candy cane looks very strange...I haven't noticed this before, but it looks like something is eating it?

I have not noticed it looking unhappy, and I applied pressure to the base and it is still very stable...just strange looking. Am I crazy?

Nice...

If you blow up the first photo the stem looks like something is eating it. Reminds me of termites or ants eating wood

In the last pic it's the blue lines going across the stem?

If so, what you are seeing is growth stages. When something like water quality affects a stony corals growth you can see it in the skeleton as the coral continues grow upwards. Your candy cane looks healthy.

Interesting...I have had it for two years and it hasn't really grown up as much as it has out. It was one head and now it is four. Very full and nice color. It opens every night.

Just worried about the holes in the stem. Maybe it's nothing.

Wow, if you're not getting growth, double check you stats. This was a single head a year ago..... maybe stop touching them?
