wontonflip's 125g build

Added our cover over the tank. Um, so, all I need now are...LIGHTS? LOL

Hehehe...yeah, and I really need to get lights soon. I hope the fish aren't depressed from light deprivation LOL It's still lit in there, but not as bright now w/ the top on. The light is just coming from our ceiling recessed lighting. Sorta saving up to build some DIY lights.

Thanks...it took a while to find at home depot....found it in the ceiling tile section...cost around $11/sheet (I think it was like, 3'x4' or something).

So, you all know I added a diamond watchman goby:

At the same time, I found the 3rd chromis that I thought was dead:

Then I got Biff's Chaeto! I already have chaeto in my fuge, but there's little flow in there to encourage pod growth, and it's really only a gallon...doesn't do much to eat up all the nitrates.. So I decided to get a new ball to put in the sump instead strictly to grow and eat up nitrates.

First step was to make a porous container for it so it doesn't float all over the place, but at the same time, allow water to flow into it freely. I bought some stiff plastic canvas from walmart (cost around $4 or so), built a box, left the top open for the light. It's tall enough so that it goes above the water. Then just clipped on another cfl light source above it. I know I should just do a nitrate scrubber, but it would have been more work to re-plumb everything. So hopefully this will work as well!

After all the hemming and hawing, I finally got my a$$ to the store and bought a tang....I settled for a yellow tang based on what I've read from people's expertise :) Thanks Livingreefs!

He is smaller than I had wanted to get, and I know how much vulnerable younger fish are, so wish us luck!

Sorry for the poor quality because I wanted to keep the lights low, and you know my point and shoot doesn't do well in the dark ;)

Freshly drip acclimated and bugeyed:

Checkin' out his new digs:

Well, I fed the other fish mysis so they would leave him alone. I put an algae sheet on the glass, but he's still exploring.

I picked him in particular cuz i saw him attacking a piece of floating algae sheet at the lfs, so I know he's eating.
