Added some dry base rock this weekend

If you live by a stone yard, call them and see if they have "lace rock", its some gorgeous rock and is very porus. I have always used it and have had good results. It takes coraline instantly, plus lace rock comes in any shape your looking for. I have had soooo many compliments on my lace rock...

    skimmer

I had one of those for about 3 months before selling it. I tried fine tuning it but I was not getting the response I was looking for. I was actually afraid the guy I sold it too was going to email me complaining since I sold it off craigslist as is. I never heard back from the guy but that...

Im about to set up my new tank upstairs and am wondering if they sell an auto top off switch that will actually cut the power off? I want to install one inside my overflow at the very top incase a mangrove leave or something was to clog my overflow or overflow was to fail, then it would cut...

Easiest way to remove hair algae?

Is there a specific way that might be easier then the other when it comes to removing hair algae. When I try to pull it off it just breaks off at the end and I barely have any in between my fingers. Was thinking about a wire brush and scrubbing? Anybody know any easier safe methods?

    Little white bugs

I actually encountered a coepod outbreak a few months ago. They were on every square inch of the glass. I had so many I thought I had an infestation of them, but there nothing to worry about. Mine vanished within 3 days. Your fish should love this cycle. On a side note, if you can see a tiny...

    Little white bugs

They are most likely coepods. Very good to have, usually means your system is doing good.

    Can you remove Scratches

Check out my old thread https://www.livingreefs.com/removing-buff-scratches-160-gallon-t22495.html I was in the same shoes you were in. I bought a 150 gallon tank that was full of scratches. Sand it with sand paper first and then come back with cerium oxide to polish the glass. To do a tank...

140 gallon on the second floor?

With the tank sitting flush against the back wall I wouldn't think it would sag. I will double check the joist before I fill the tank up just to be on the safe side. If the house wasn't built in a hurry and everything was built by spec, the joist should be 16" a part meaning the tank would sit...

    Strange sump leak<<Any ideals?

This might sound weird but my acrylic sump is bleeding water through the entire bottom of the sump. Sump has been full of water for the past 5 years so I don't know if its water logged or if its even possible for acrylic to water log? I have the sump up on a dolly in my garage where the sides...
