Water temp is usually 66-72 can get exact reading of the location when I get back in the water. The current is northern so it may have come from mexico as many things on the beach do hahah. It seemed to really like my tanks 80 degrees.., can always set my heater at 72 if I isolate it. Oh and it...

    flame angel

WOOOOOOOO finally!!!! I caught the little devil without having to move a single rock or buy a new fish trap!! I left the net in the tank and fed out of it for almost two weeks and he finally ate inside the net. I caught three of my fish at once but the important part is that I got him out... All...

so i know ive posted about this in the past... i had asked about these incredibly small brown worm/slug like things that were crawling on my glass in the thousands. they seem to have disappeared from the glass for the most part [although i do clean it often]. however there have been a few long...

    Coral??

All of the corals mentioned are hard corals actually, they are Lps (large polyp stonies) but they are among the easier stony corals. Wht is the wattage or length of your bulbs? Tht won't be enough for even most soft corals unfortunately, I woul recommend at least a four bulb 48 inch t5 fixture...

    Coral??

ps for hard corals you will need to keep the calc, alk, mag, iodine etc levels higher than in a fowlr.... at least if you want to see growth ;)

    Coral??

well usually you start out wth easy basic corals like softies and perhaps lps... easier corals are only optional feeders, you can feed them pretty much anything you feed your fish as a basic meal, or they can survive off of strong lights alone. it really depends on what kind of coral you want...

Best way to rid tank of algae spores

you can use white vinegar as well... thats a little bit safer also. but scrubbing it thoroughly and drying it would probably do the trick

So my tank is essentially algae free, I've been running gfo and carbon for a few months and it's working wonders. The tank is pretty much spotless except, for ONE rock that algae seems to always grow on. It's an odd type of algae I've never really seen before it almost looks like a fuzzy mold...
